The Perfect Analysis Photo: A Studio Lighting Protocol

Garbage In, Garbage Out. Learn the 3 North-Light rules to ensure your AI Color Analysis is 99% accurate.

The "Garbage In, Garbage Out" Rule

80% of "incorrect" Color Analysis results are due to Warm Indoor Lighting. If your light is yellow, the AI calculates that your skin is "Warm," even if you are a Cool Winter.

The North Light Protocol

The Golden Rule: Never use artificial light.

  1. Source: Find a North-facing window (Indirect light).
  2. Distance: Stand 1 meter away (Too close = Fish-eye distortion).
  3. Sensor: Wipe your lens. 50% of blurry photos are just finger grease.
  4. Pose: Arms out, chin up.

1. Visual Verification: The Window Logic

Distance matters. If you stand too close to the window, the contrast is too high (Bleached face, dark ears).

Top-down schematic diagram showing a room. A 'North Window' emits soft blue light. The User is positioned 1.5 meters away, facing the window. A 'Camera' icon is between the window and the user. A 'No Sun' icon indicates direct beams are bad.
Figure 1: The Studio Setup at Home. Standing 1.5m back allows the light to wrap around your face evenly, removing harsh shadows.

2. The "White Balance" Lie

Your brain auto-corrects yellow light. The camera does not.

Split screen comparison. Left (Wrong): Selfie taken in a bathroom with yellow lights. Skin looks jaundiced/orange. Result: 'Mistyped as Autumn'. Right (Right): Selfie taken facing a window. Skin looks porcelain/pink. Result: 'Correctly typed as Summer'.
Figure 2: The Sensor Probability. Indoor lighting adds a +20% Warm Bias to pixel data, causing Cool seasons to be mistyped as Warm.

3. The Body Map (Pose Hygiene)

The "A-Pose" Standard: Keep your arms slightly away from your body, like the letter 'A'.

  • Why: The AI needs to see the gap between your arm and waist to define the silhouette.
  • Error: "Soldier Pose" (arms glued to sides) makes you look wider because the AI blends the sleeve into the torso.

Hair Management: Tie your hair up. Hair covering the shoulders confuses the Neckline Detection algorithm.

4. The "Green Screen" Effect

Wear tight-fitting clothes (leggings + tank top) in a solid color (black/grey). Baggy clothes create "ghost volume" that is hard to erase.
