The "Rosy" Trap
⭐ Rated 4.7/5 by 1,700+ reviewers
Undertone is biological pigment (hemoglobin vs melanin). Overtone is surface color influenced by environment and skin translucency. Many individuals misidentify as "Cool" because they see pink (redness) in their cheeks, ignoring the golden hue of their neck and chest.

The Science
The Hemoglobin Map: A high weight in the Hemoglobin map represents vascularity (red/blue). This can exist in any season. The Correction: To find the true season, you must separate surface redness (overtone) from the base skin tone. The Result: A person can have "Rosy" cheeks but a dominant "Golden" base, making them a Warm Spring or True Autumn.

1. How Computer Vision Finds the Truth
We do not look at the cheeks. We analyze the Individual Typology Angle (ITA) and the b channel* (Yellow axis).
- Region of Interest: We extract pixels from the jawline and forehead, avoiding the "T-zone" redness.
- The b Metric:* Warm Undertone is detected if base pixels have a positive b* value, even if the cheeks have a negative a* (Red) value.
- Skin Locus: We correct for lighting to ensure redness isn't just a reflection.
2. ❌ Common Misidentifications
- The "Flushed" Spring: A Bright Spring often has translucent skin that shows blood flow. If you classify based on cheeks, you get Summer. The algorithm finds the hidden yellow vector.
- The "Pale" Winter: A Deep Winter may have very pale skin (low Melanin). Confusion arises if they lack pink. The algorithm confirms Winter by detecting high contrast, not just color.
